Gold Markers are pure gold cylindrical beads or wires specially knurled to inhibit migration. They mark and display the position of tumors giving high precision in radiotherapy treatment leading to better cure in Cancer. Implantable fiducial markers provide a highly effective method of ensuring accurate target localization for tumors and organs which move in respect to external anatomy, as well as for the precision localization needed for stereotactic radiotherapy

Why use Gold as the Material in Fiducial Markers?

• Gold is inert. It does not react with the tissue
• Gold is very heavy. Its weight per volume is 20 times that of water and gold therefore stops the x-rays very effectively
• Pure gold, 99,99% as in Gold Anchor, is soft and flexible

Why Fiducial Markers?
